POWERLESS is a new musical about Greek Gods in a modern world. With the glory days of myth behind them, the gods continue to carry out their duties from the shadows, posing as an eccentric wealthy family living in the foothills of Mt. Olympus. Eros, the son of Aphrodite, meets and falls for a mortal woman named Syd, and takes on the identity of a mortal named “Ross” to protect his family’s secret. When Ross’ father, the god of war Ares, finds out about Syd, he invites her to visit the Olympians’ estate for reasons of his own. As the visit spirals out of control and leads to unexpected consequences, Ross finds himself torn between his two worlds, forcing him to reevaluate his family and his role within it
This show is a new work developmental workshop, written and composed by Will Buck.
